OVERVIEW

The AcuRite 02098 Color Digital Weather Station uses patented Self-Calibrating Technology to provide your personal forecast of 12 to 24 hour weather conditions. Self-Calibrating Forecasting is generated from weather data measured by the outdoor sensor. The color LCD screen includes indoor/outdoor temperature, indoor/outdoor humidity, moon phase, barometric pressure with weather trend indicator, time and date. Features programmable weather alarms and auto-dimming brightness for nighttime use.

The clock automatically updates itself for Daylight Saving Time. Display stands upright for tabletop use or wall-mountable. The outdoor sensor features powerful wireless technology, a weather-resistant design and an integrated hanger for easy mounting.

Size & layout great; inaccurate temp, unreadable angles

Layout of temp pressure moon date and clock are great but the temperature is off and can't read the screen unless directly in front and level with the screen. I have other stations (one an Acurite) that give different temps. The LED screen is viewable only if directly in front and level; other angles faded.

Wonderful Product

The reason I bought this weather station was because of the LARGE type. It can be read from about anywhere. The one thing I would like to see happen, would be the characters would be a DARKER color. The color of mine are a Grey color, NOT BLACK, as shown on the display. Other than that the unit works GREAT. In Oklahoma it would be nice to have a FEELS LIKE temperature on the display as well.

Hard to see Temperature from across the room.

Unfortunately, unless we wall mount the weather station, it is impossible to see the indoor and outdoor temps from across the room. We had to add cupboard buffer dots onto the bottom of the stand at the back in order that the unit stands more upright and we are able to see the temps without having to approach the unit.

Great display & quite accurate with the temps. We disable the backlight at nights since it's in our bedroom. However, the backlight still turns on at 4 a.m. every day. We've tried resetting it, but that didn't help. We've gotten used to it coming on at that time so we're going to keep it!!!

Fairly easy to read

Could not see the big numbers when sitting across the room, about 18'. Then I discovered only way to see them clearly was to change the angle to where it was perfectly flat. I used the snap on stand which pitched the angle at an inappropriate viewing angle. My solution was to put 1/2" pad on the backside of the stand which made the display perfectly flat. I wish someone would make a product using the red LED numbers against a black background. We older people can see these numbers much easier. Overall the unit is very informative and seems to be of good quality.
