Productive Alternatives Stratus Rain Gauge - Metric

Easily and accurately monitor rainfall amounts with the Productive Alternatives Stratus Professional Rain Gauge, a precision weather instrument manufactured to United States National Weather Service and Environment Canada specifications, and is used as its official gauge around the world. Constructed of heavy-duty, UV resistant polycarbonate, the Stratus rain gauge will stand up to years of rough weather and full sun without fading or corroding.

A funnel top on the rain gauge catches rain and delivers it to the inner measuring tube, while the extra-large outer cylinder captures rain volumes over 25 millimeters (one inch) up to 300 millimeters (11 inches), and can be detached to measure snow, hail, or sleet. The Stratus rain gauge is guaranteed accurate to 0.2 millimeters (1/100th of an inch)! Clear plastic construction provides a see-through design so the gauge is very easy to read. Installing the rain gauge on a post (away from buildings and trees) is easy with its exclusive "Quick Connect" bracket, which lets you quickly remove the cylinder for easy measurement or cleaning (and there are no metal parts to rust!). Includes rain gauge (funnel, inner measuring tube and overflow tube), post mounting bracket and hardware, one-year daily precipitation log, and detailed instructions. This is the official rain gauge for both the National Weather Service precipitation monitors and CoCoRaHS, a grassroots volunteer network of backyard weather observers working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow) in their local communities. CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, their aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications.
