If you're looking for a superior wireless weather station, the Davis Vantage Pro2 Weather Station is as good as they come! A cabled version of this model is also available. Vantage Pro2 offers the professional weather observer and the serious weather enthusiast rugged performance and a wide range of options and sensors. You'll get your own local forecast, highs and lows, totals or averages, and graphs for virtually all weather variables over the past 24 hours, days, months or years on the included Vantage Pro2 console. Vantage Pro2 is also an excellent choice for emergency professionals, farmers, schools, researchers, municipalities, and others to monitor wind and moisture conditions, irrigation requirements, and potential flooding. It can be customized with a range of add-on options, such as additional temperature and humidity sensors, soil moisture stations, and long and short-range repeaters.

Two key factors that set the Vantage Pro2 apart from many other complete weather stations are the refresh rate and the transmission distance:

  • Refresh Rate - A packet of data is sent from the outdoor transmitter to the receiver every 2 1/2 seconds! This means when you look out the window and see the wind blowing, the weather station will reflect it almost immediately.
  • Transmission Distance - The first in its consumer price range to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology, the Vantage Pro2 can transmit and receive data up to 1000' (300 m) line of sight. This is a much greater distance than most other weather stations. This technology also provides improved reception through multiple walls and greater immunity from RF interference.

The Davis Vantage Pro2 provides extensive additional information for each weather variable. These include daily highs and lows, temperature changes by the hour, air pressure changes and astronomical data such as moon phase and meteor showers. Additional consoles can be purchased for placement in other areas of your home such as a den, bedroom or backyard.

To make viewing weather data easier at night, Davis designed the Vantage Pro2 console with an easy-to-read backlit LCD display. A data collecting device in its own right, the console's built in sensors provide indoor temperature and humidity as well as barometric pressure measurements.

The Vantage Pro2 6152 outdoor Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) is energized by a solar panel during the day and stored energy for power at night, making it an ideal product or gift for the "green" consumer.

You can set over 70 alarms on the Vantage Pro2 for multiple functions simultaneously. You can view over 80 graphs including additional analysis of temperature, rain, rain rate, wind, and barometric pressure. The ticker-tape display shows forecast details and additional information with over 100 different messages.

To view your weather data either on a PC or to stream the data to the online cloud you may purchase a WeatherLink data-logger and upload near real-time weather information.

All Davis Vantage Pro2 Complete Weather Station models include:

  • Console with AC power adapter. Wireless console may also be powered using three C batteries. Batteries should also be added for backup during power outages when using the included AC power adapter.
  • Integrated sensor suite with rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, and anemometer. The temperature and humidity sensors are integrated beneath the rain collector (very nice).
  • 40 foot (12 meter) anemometer cable. The anemometer connects to the Sensor Interface Module (SIM) on the side of the rain gauge.
  • AeroCone with bird spikes. The AeroCone rain collector reduces wind-induced errors by providing a more aerodynamic path around the collector. Its contours are designed to streamline the airflow and reduce flow distortions. The design improves rain data accuracy in high wind situations where the horizontal wind velocity can cause under reporting. The inside of the rain collector is equally well designed, keeping intact the carefully engineered interior walls that reduce splash out during high rain conditions. The new debris screen locks into place, ensuring that it remains in place during high winds and heavy rainfall events. The rain collector has optional spikes that can be installed to avoid potential nesting.

Not sure which model to choose? Visit our Davis Weather Stations Comparison Chart to help you decide. Includes the Davis Vantage Vue weather station as well.

Note: We do carry magnetic compasses to help you orient your anemometer to true north. Those can be located under the "Accessories" tab. For more information on set up, please visit the anemometer page on our WeatherShack education center.

5 stars Excellent product.
My last Davis lasted 10 years until a storm tore the roof off and the roof destroyed the davis unit. Otherwise it would still be going.

5 stars Excellent, Reliable Product
This is the 2nd VP2 I've owned and it's a very nice upgrade to the older (circa 2012) I've had. New model solved 2 issues with debris in the rain collector and rogue birds using the collector as a toilet. Still no free app for remote viewing but I use a blink camera on my older console to check in while traveling. Pro type setup with lots of customization for tweakers. Buy one and it will hold up, unlike cheaper, inaccurate "toys".

5 stars Had one for years. This one is a replacement.
Good weather stations. Last one lasted 14 years and was still working except for wind and outside humidity. Lot of wear being outside that long. Decided to replace it.

4 stars Excellent Weather Station, once Running
Ordered to replace a Davis Weather Monitor 2 damaged by lightning some time ago. Shipping was timely and unit well packed. Powered it up but display stayed blank. Nothing helped. Did a search and others have reported problems with the display ribbon cable. Opened it up and the display end plug wasn't even engaged. Cable freely pulled out. So put it in and engaged the plug clamps. Voila! But all this took a few hours so lose one star for poor quality control in assembly. Later, after mounting the anemometer on the garage roof tripod and running the cable, I noticed the RJ11 which plugs into the main outdoor transmitter unit was damaged. Had to buy a crimping tool to replace it but repair went well and works fine. May have damaged the plug myself while running the cable so no deduct for that one. Now that the unit is installed and running, it is very nice and appears to be excellent quality as expected. Shows good agreement with other instruments such as a nearby manual rain gauge. Quite pleased with final results and nice to know the indoor computer (just on batteries) won't get fried by another storm.

5 stars Quality Product
This station just speaks quality everywhere. Super easy to set up, stainless hardware, VERY comprehensive manuals. Very accurate too. I initially ordered the wrong station, and WeatherShack return policy was great.

5 stars Excellent product and easy to set up.
Switched to this manufacturer, Daniel Instruments, from Accurite due the latters inability to hold up on a beach house on the TX Gulf coast with the circuit board quickly corroding from the salt in the air. This new unit has a o'ring door seals, so I am hoping this one will last longer.

5 stars Davis Solar -Powered Wireless Vantage Pro2 Weather Station
This product was purchased to replace a Davis Weather Station that was purchased in 2004 and installed on our boat. Lasted almost 18 years - but anemometer was damaged by constant wind and sun (in FL). This convinced us that Davis was the brand to buy. Our new station has been tested for approximately two months. It has been in several squalls with very high winds and excessive rain -- performed perfectly. In fact, we want to especially commend the software developers -- we received the "It's raining cats and dogs" message during one of these squalls. The wireless feature was especially necessary for our new installation -- this prevented me from having to climb to the top of the mast to replace the anemometer. Really appreciated:) i.e. I did not have to use the old wiring and could place the weather station in a location that was easier to install and service, if necessary. The set up was very easy -- I recommend the use of lock nuts instead of nuts and locking washers and the install would be easier and the final product more secure. The weather station has worked very well on several voyages as well as in providing our day-to-day weather and weather trends -- even though it is in a tougher environment than many weather stations because of the weather is it subjected to being on the water and on a boat. We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend Davis.
