Reliable barometer

I really like having a barometer partly because my sinuses react to small changes in barometric pressure and partly because it's just interesting. I got a less expensive one on Amazon which broke promptly. This barometer is better quality and has been very accurate. It's also nice looking on my kitchen wall.

Works great. Up close looks like polystyrene (it is) Step back and it looks like burnished titanium. I love it. Looks great on my kitchen wall. Tiny knob on reference needle makes it tough to adjust though.

Defective Barometer

The needle does move as I can see when I wake up but I always have to lightly tap it to get the final measurement and then it is accurate. However, this should not be and the movement should be seamless. I did report it to Weems & Plath and they advised me to return it for a replacement which I did. I do like that they provide a lifetime warranty and that the barometer is temperature compensated. I believe it is good value for the money. I just hope the replacement moves seamlessly. WeatherShack could provide better packing material for the shipment.

I've had it about a week and it appears to move in response to changes in air pressure paralleling the local weather service station reports. Adjustment is easy with the back door swinging open

this is a good barometer for a boat I am a commercial offshore scallop boat captain and this barometer does the trick the case is imperious to the salt air and the instrument seems to take the ponding well I recommend this product it suites my purpose fine and I did not need to get a loan to buy it.
